South Orange residents can help clean Rahway River on May 3. It is from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Meadowland Park. Attendees should bring waterproof boots, gloves, sunscreen, and reusable water containers. Led by the South Orange Environmental Commission. Registration and liability release required. Rain date is May 17.

People can attend a meeting about advancing equity and inclusion for LGBTQ+ youth in schools on May 4 in Newark. It is at 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and will take place at Branch Brook Park inside the Stephen N. Adubato Community Center. Led by the state Advisory Committee on Advancing LGBTQIA+ Youth Equity and Inclusion in Schools. It will discuss ways to support LGBTQ+ youth through systems review, professional learning, data analysis, recommendations, and more.
