Essex County announces COVID-19 Homelessness Prevention Grant

Essex County Executive Joseph N. DiVincenzo, Jr. announced $1 million in grant funding is available to support shelter operations and street outreach activities to prevent homelessness. The funds are targeted to help shelters and community-based agencies that have been providing homeless prevention services during the pandemic. The application deadline is Monday, December 6th at 6 p.m. The application can be accessed at www.EssexCountyNJ.org and clicking on the "2021 Essex County COVID-19 Assistance Grant for Homeless Prevention" link.

Bloomfield Health & Human Services providing COVID-19 vaccines to residents on Wednesday at Bloomfield Civic Center

The BDHHS is now offering Johnson & Johnson, Pfizer, and Moderna COVID-19 vaccines to Bloomfield residents. A clinic will be held at the Bloomfield Civics Center, 84 Broad St, Bloomfield, first floor on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 from 2-4pm. Appointments required.

Essex County accepting applications for 2021 Emergency Rental Assistance Program

Essex County Executive Joseph N. DiVincenzo, Jr. announced that Essex County is accepting applications for the 2021 Essex County Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP). Renters and landlords who have been negatively impacted during the Coronavirus pandemic and need help to pay rent or utility bills can apply for funding. Grants will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.

A free shredding event will take place at the Pulaski Park parking lot on Saturday, November 6 between 9am-12pm. The service is only available for Bloomfield residents and proof of residency will be required.

Essex County 2021 Strut Your Mutt Contest Winners

Essex County Executive Joseph N. DiVincenzo, Jr. welcomed dog owners and their pets to the Annual Essex County Strut Your Mutt Canine Costume Parades and Contests at the Essex County Brookdale Dog Park in Bloomfield/Montclair and Essex County Grover Cleveland Park in Caldwell/Essex Fells on Saturday, October 23rd and the Essex County Branch Brook Dog Park in Newark on Sunday, October 24th.
