Bloomfield Township’s Annual Tom Fleming Sunset Classic Returns for 34th Year

Mayor Michael Venezia and the Township of Bloomfield are excited to once again host the 34th running of the Tom Fleming Sunset Classic next Thursday night, June 30th. Registration for the races and packet pickup starts at 5:00 PM at Foley Field, with the first event (kids sprints) beginning at 6:30 PM.

Bloomfield to Host 2nd Annual Juneteenth Celebration Event

The Township of Bloomfield is hosting a Juneteenth Celebration Event this Saturday, June 18th from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Glenwood Avenue between Washington St and Lackawanna Ave in Bloomfield. The celebration will spotlight black owned businesses and there will be an inspiration service at 10:00 AM to kick off the event.

Bloomfield Community Farmer’s Market 2022 season begins Jun. 7

The Township of Bloomfield announced the opening of the Bloomfield Community Farmer's Market with the intention of increasing access to fresh, local produce for Bloomfield residents and surrounding communities. The weekly market will reopen on Tuesday, June 7 and run every Tuesday from 3:30 PM to 6:30 PM at the Bloomfield Public Library Courtyard through Tuesday, October 25.

Bloomfield Township Celebrates Oakeside Mansion Reopening with Open House Tour

The Township of Bloomfield is excited to announce the grand re-opening and open house tour of Oakeside Mansion on Saturday, June 25, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM. The Township assumed management of the Cultural Asset a year ago and had been diligently working on facility maintenance as well as the framework to make this beautiful space more accessible and available to our residents.

Bloomfield Township Residents May Qualify For Blue Acres Program

Governor Murphy announced an added $50 Million in funds towards the Blue Acres Program, which buys flood-damaged or flood prone homes at market-price for demolition and turns the land into open air spaces usable for recreational purposes or wetland conservation.

Applications are now open for Bloomfield students that are in 7th, 8th, or 9th grade for the Municipal Youth Internship Program taking place July 11 - July 23 at the Bloomfield College campus.

Bloomfield Fire and Engineering Departments to Begin Routine Hydrant Flushing Monday

The Bloomfield Fire Department, in partnership with the Bloomfield Engineering Department will begin routine, mandatory hydrant flushing next Monday, May 9. To minimize disruption to residents that may be impacted, notifications will be made ahead of time via the township cable channel (Channel 35), the township website, as well as the Township Facebook page about which hydrants will be flushed.

“Clean & Strong Bloomfield” Initiative Aims to Improve Quality of Life for Residents

Mayor Michael Venezia, Councilwoman Sarah Cruz and Councilwoman Jenny Mundell are extremely excited to announce a new initiative called “Clean & Strong Bloomfield”, that encourages community engagement by soliciting feedback from residents as well as town employees about quality of life issues, suspected criminal activity, infrastructure or roadway issues, or any situation that detracts from a safe and harmonious community environment. The annual Spring town-wide cleanup on Saturday, April 30, will serve as the kick-off event for this new campaign.
