Islamic Center of Essex County recently purchased property that previously housed First Lutheran Church of Montclair to become a mosque after seven years of worshipping in an office building. The church closed one month before the purchase because of declining membership.

PATH will replace train tracks on the Newark-World Trade Center line between Harrison and Journal Square in late 2027. Work will be completed on four sections of the track that have deteriorated, including rails, ties, ballast, and the third rail, which supplies power. The track is also PATH’s only above-ground route and has been worn down from weather and storm damage.
