David Burbank, a teacher and band director at Bloomfield Middle School and assistant band director at Bloomfield High School, was recently arrested for sexually assaulting a student, according to the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office. Burbank was charged with attempted aggravated sexual assault, sexual assault, sexual contact, criminal restraint, endangering the welfare of a child, and luring. The school district placed Burbank on leave, according to Bloomfield School Superintendent Salvatore Goncalves.

People can visit Ridgeway Park’s StoryWalk, an initiative promoting literacy, in West Orange. The book for July is “There’s a Dinosaur in Your Book” by Tom Fletcher.
