Demolition underway to build University High School in Newark’s South Ward

Demolition is underway to build University High School at the corner of Hawthorne Avenue and Dewey Street in Newark’s South Ward. Early site preparation will continue through March 2027. Construction of the high school is set to begin in fall 2027.
