Newark filed lawsuit against property management companies over rent hikes, health violations

Newark filed a lawsuit against two property management companies for health violations and increasing rent beyond the city’s allowable limit. The companies are NJ Best Management LLC, which manages 380 South 6th St., and 380 S 6 LLC, which manages 378-386 South 6th St. It marks the first time the city is suing for money damages.
