Youth ages 17-23 can apply to the Palestinian American Community Center’s Advocacy and Civic Engagement internship program, scheduled from September to June. Interns will explore community empowerment, civic engagement, and Palestine education for youth. Applications close Aug. 7.

Town hall meeting with South Orange planned virtually on Aug. 5. It will discuss an ordinance, or local law, to adopt the Valley Street Redevelopment Plan. The plan is available to view online. The town hall will include a Q&A session. It begins at 7 p.m.

Chantal M. Borroum will begin work as Montclair’s township attorney on Aug. 11. Borroum served as Newark’s chief of fiscal and legal affairs in Newark from 2022-2025. She is approved for a one-year term.

Students in grade 9 at New Media High School will spend their first year at Bard High School Early College as renovation continues. New Media High School will be located at the former site of Dayton Street Elementary School in the South Ward, and next to where Lionsgate Studios Newark is anticipated to be built. New Media will prepare students for careers in video media production, content creation, and entertainment management, according to Newark Superintendent of Schools Roger León.
