Butterfly monarch story and walk planned at Essex County Environmental Center on Jul. 13 in Roseland. Participants will walk the center’s trails and learn about monarch caterpillars from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Fee is $15 per person.

Glen Ridge public works will spray herbicide to cobblestone gutters throughout the borough on Jul. 15. Herbicides are a type of pesticide and are designed to target weeds and other plants. Residents can request to opt out online.

Bloomfield public works will collect storm debris and branches. People must place branches at the curb. Residents can schedule a large tree debris collection by calling the public works department at 973-680-4127.

Strive North Jersey will host virtual information sessions for its “Career Path Program” for adults ages 18+. Strive North Jersey is a job training and career development nonprofit that serves Essex, Union, and Hudson counties. The program is free and information sessions are Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10 a.m. Interested residents must complete an online intake form.

Newark Airport’s Terminal B will receive $75 million in upgrades following approval from the Port Authority of N.Y. and N.J. The funds will be used to upgrade gates, restrooms, escalators, and elevators. It will mark the first phase of a three-year, $200 million renovation plan. Future renovations include improved ADA accessibility and upgraded HVAC and baggage systems among other features.
