Bloomfield received a gold star in health from Sustainable Jersey for its services, the highest level of recognition in the program. The township was recognized for addressing food access, mental health, healthcare access, housing affordability, and transportation barriers.

New Jersey’s public worker pension fund sold Geo Group Inc. corporate bonds earlier this year. The bonds are valued at more than $800,000. Geo Group is the private prison company that owns Delaney Hall, a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement concentration camp in Newark. The state pension fund is still invested in Palantir Technologies, a data-mining company that provides information to ICE agents.
