Belleville residents age 55+ can apply for the township senior advisory board. Appointments will be made July 1 for a three year term. Applications must be submitted online by June 1.

Bloomfield residents in grades K-6 can attend a comic book themed “Friday Fun Night” at the Bloomfield Civic Center May 15. This is a drop-off event that will teach participants how to create comics. Character dress up is encouraged. Registration opens on May 1.

Latinos of Montclair is hosting a fundraising dinner called “Flavors of South America” on May 20 in Montclair. It is from 6-9:30 p.m. at Faubourg on 544 Bloomfield Ave. There will be three South American chefs, live Latin jazz, a sommelier, and a silent auction. Tickets are available online for purchase.

NJ Transit will be adjusting ticket fares during World Cup tournaments this summer, with prices to MetLife Stadium increasing from $12.90 to $150 by train. The price hike is meant to offset operational costs of $48 million, according to NJ Transit CEO Kris Kolluri. Train tickets to MetLife Stadium will be available to purchase on May 13 and must be purchased in advance using the NJ Transit app. Tickets will not be sold at train stations or ticket vending stations. Shuttle bus tickets leaving from Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine in Clifton will cost $80. Tickets by train or bus are non-refundable and non-transferable. Commuters who use NJ Transit must use alternate routes on tournament days, including PATH train from 33rd Street Station or a bus from the Port Authority Bus Terminal.
