West Orange Town Council to make final vote on leaf blower law

From TAPinto West Orange.

A West Orange ordinance to seasonally restrict the use of gas-powered leaf blowers during select hours may become law if approved at an upcoming council meeting. Gas-powered leaf blowers are permitted from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekends from Mar. 1 to Apr. 15 and Nov. 1 to Dec. 31. West Orange plans to fully transition to battery-powered leaf blowers, effective Jan. 1, 2026. A second reading of the ordinance, or final vote before it becomes law, is typically scheduled at the next regular council meeting, Mar. 11. Meeting attendees should check the online meeting agenda before the Mar. 11 meeting to confirm whether the council plans to make a vote.
