Applications are open for eligible Orange and West Orange residents to receive up to $15K for home improvement. 2023-2024 Housing and Neighborhood Development Services (HANDS) grants are available for the repair or replacement of bathrooms, kitchens, windows, doors, roofs, porches, awnings, gutters, and other qualifying home projects in certain neighborhoods. West Orange Elks plans “Elks Hoop Shoot” free throw contest for area children age 8-13 on Oct. 28 at the West Orange High School Old Gym. Birth certificate required for proof of age. Add to 📅.

Downtown West Orange Alliance plans “Trick or Treat” event on Oct. 28. The event will be from 1-5 p.m. starting at 289 Main St. Participating businesses will have black and orange balloons outside their storefronts. The event will also include games and music. Add to 📅.

N.J. launches new website on reproductive health alongside other efforts aimed at improving access to birth control and abortion care. The website lists state and federal reproductive rights and health care insurance requirements alongside other resources for providers and patients. It also includes information on how to file a complaint for harassment or intimidation while attempting to obtain an abortion.
