Registration is open for Nutley recreation’s fall 2023 travel basketball teams for children in grades 5-8. Try-outs will be held by grade on Oct. 20-21. Preregistration is required by Oct. 19 at the parks and recreation office or online through Community Pass. Add to 📅.

Nutley residents can pick up leaf bags for 2023 fall collection starting Oct. 10. Pickup will be available at the public works garage on Cortland St. on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., with proof of residency required.

Bloomfield animal shelter has waived all dog adoption fees for the month of October in honor of “Adopt a Shelter Dog Month.” Interested adoptees can fill out an adoption application online.

Workshops can be customized to respond to serve particular needs, including dealing with sexual harassment or discrimination against immigrants, Muslims, formerly incarcerated people, LGBTQ+ people, people with disabilities, and other groups. Workshops are available in English and in Spanish.
