South Orange library has updated their hours of operation as of Oct. 1. The children’s section of the library will open at 12 p.m. on Mondays. Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday opening hours are now 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

NJ Transit announces emergency bus plan for discontinued O.N.E. bus routes for Orange, East Orange, South Orange, and Newark. The new routes will be along the 24, 31, and 44 line starting Oct. 9.

West Orange plans “Super Hero Costume Party” for children with disabilities and their families on Oct. 18 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Toby Katz Center. Dinner will be served for all guests. This event is open to residents and non-residents. Preregistration is required in Community Pass. Add to 📅.

Essex County officials marked the grand opening of the “Island Giants” habitat at Turtle Back Zoo on Sep. 20. The upgraded habitat will be home to alligators, crocodiles, tortoises and the zoo’s Komodo dragon.
