Bloomfield Gives Back for Valentines Day

This is a press release from Bloomfield Township. Press releases are official statements that have not been independently verified.

This weekend, as part of the MLK Womenโ€™s Health Project, residents got together at the Bloomfield Public Library to make โ€œfancyโ€ gift bags for women at a local domestic violence shelter. 48 gift bags were made and delivered for Valentineโ€™s Day that included body mists, shower poufs, lip glosses, nail polishes, teas, chocolates, Dunkin Donuts gift cards, and magazines.

At the same time, members of a volunteer group, Vieveโ€™s Volunteers, made 400 bags of goodies for seniors in the community. This was a wonderful collaborative event with a lot of volunteer support and donations.

โ€œMembers of our community got together for an incredible cause and surely made a lot of women and seniors very happy,โ€ said Mayor Venezia. โ€œIn Bloomfield, we are fortunate to live somewhere where people are so caring and supportive of their neighbors.โ€
