Backpack giveaway for South Ward residents planned on Aug. 28 in Newark. There will be three giveaways: 1 p.m. at Avon Avenue Elementary School; 3 p.m. at George Washington Carver Elementary School; and 5 p.m. at The Temple of Hip Hop. Children must be present.
