Newark 2025-26 Poet Laureate Application Deadline

Professional poets living in Newark can apply by Feb. 3 to be considered as the city’s inaugural poet laureate for 2025-26. Applicants must be 21+, Newark resident for at least two years, an active professional poet, committed to local community, and willing to fulfill duties in the role, including leading poetry workshops. Applicants must submit a professional biography, resume, letter of intent, work samples, and two recommendation letters. Applications accepted online.
