Township of Bloomfield to Host Community Townwide Garage Sale

The Township of Bloomfield has announced that it will be hosting a community town wide garage sale on April 29 and April 30. To encourage participation, the Township has waived the garage sale permit fees for those dates which means residents can participate without having to pay a permit fee - however registration is required. Township of Bloomfield Offers Expanded Shuttle Bus Service After Crucial Bus Route Vacated by DeCamp

Bloomfield Mayor Michael Venezia wants residents to be aware of the alternate means by which they can access New York City now that the DeCamp bus company has terminated its commuter service from Bloomfield to New York City. This includes an expansion of the Townships’ existing shuttle service beginning on April 10, that will take residents to the Allwood (Clifton) Park & Ride from which they can transfer to the 192 to the Port Authority, as well as several other alternatives which are listed below.

Bloomfield Township Launching Monthly Mental Health Workshops Starting in March

The Township of Bloomfield Department of Human Services, in partnership with Temple Ner Tamid and Rabbi Katz, will be hosting a monthly workshop to help equip parents and caregivers of children, teens, and young adults with the support and information they need to understand and care for the mental health of their children. The workshops will be held at Temple Ner Tamid (936 Broad Street, Bloomfield, NJ) on Wednesdays from 7:30-8:30 P.M. on March 29, April 26, May 31, June 21, July 19, and August 23.

Bloomfield Township Partners with NJ Human Services and GetSetUp to Offer Free Online Courses for Older Adults

Bloomfield Township has partnered with the New Jersey Division of Aging Services and GetSetUp to provide hundreds of virtual classes for older adults, taught by peers, to keep residents mentally, physically, and socially active. Classes are interactive, easy to join, offered day and night, and free for Bloomfield community members ages 60 and older.

Bloomfield Township Purchases Four New Electric Vehicles

Bloomfield Mayor Michael Venezia is proud to announce the Township has acquired four new electric vehicles (EV), and received grants for two more, for use by its municipal departments. The Townships’ four new sedans and two trucks will replace older gasoline-powered vehicles in their fleet and bring their EV total to ten.

Essex County Receives $46M Grant for Traffic Signal Modernizations

Essex County Executive Joseph N. DiVincenzo, Jr. announced the North Jersey Transportation Planning Authority has awarded Essex County two grants totaling $46 million grant to modernize and update 54 intersections in nine Essex County municipalities on Monday, March 13th. The two grants - for 24,830,00 and $21,735,000 for a total of $46.565 million - is the largest safety-oriented award ever given by the NJTPA through its Local Safety Program.

Essex County Enacts Code Blue Procedures for Mar. 10-13

Essex County Executive Joseph N. DiVincenzo, Jr. and Essex County Sheriff Armando Fontoura announced the Essex County's Code Blue procedures are being activated because of the weather forecast and the uncertainty of nighttime temperatures. Essex County is enacting its Code Blue protocols from Friday, March 10th to Monday, March 13th from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. during the overnight hours only.
