Domestic violence awareness walk planned on Oct. 9 in East Orange. It is from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at East Orange City Hall. Attendees are encouraged to wear purple.

Former Orange police officer Ryan Terry pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit bank fraud and one count of bank fraud. Bank fraud conspiracy and bank fraud both carry a maximum penalty of 30 years in prison and a maximum fine of $1 million, according to prosecutors. His sentencing is scheduled for Jan. 21, 2026.

New Jersey’s minimum wage will increase by 43 cents to $15.92 for most workers on Jan. 1 under N.J.’s cost-of-living adjustment required by the state constitution. The minimum wage for seasonal and small employers will increase from $14.53 to $15.23; from $18.49 to $18.92 for long-term care facility workers; from $5.62 to $6.05 for tipped workers; and from $13.40 to $14.20 for agricultural workers.
