New Jersey Reparations Council will release and discuss its report, “For Such a Time as This: The Nowness of Reparations for Black People in New Jersey,” on Jun. 19 at NJPAC. It begins at 7 p.m. The two-year report documents N.J.’s history and legacy of slavery, and proposes policies for reparations for Black people in N.J. Registration is required. Free admission.
In 2024, the N.J. Reparations Council held a panel discussion to share updates on its report. The Jersey Bee attended the event and produced an article to help residents understand the history and questions shaping reparations in N.J. Read it here.
