Newark Firefighters Foundation seeks donations to support more than 65 people displaced by a fire that spread on Mar. 2 on Woodside Avenue. The fire spread through four apartment buildings, injured four people including two firefighters, and displaced 24 families. Monetary donations accepted as well as gift cards and items in new condition. Drop-off location is 238 Murray St. in Newark.

Emotional and spiritual wellness for LGBTQ+ people planned by Out Montclair on Mar. 18 in Montclair. It is from 7-9:30 p.m. at Union Congregational Church. There will be sessions for relaxation techniques and grounding skills, chair yoga, and optional neck and shoulder massages. Admission is $10. Tickets available online for purchase.

Newark Pride seeks monetary donations to support its programs, including the annual Newark LGBTQ+ Pride Festival. The 20th anniversary fundraiser is in honor of Sakia Gunn, a Black lesbian and Newark resident who was killed in a 2003 hate crime.

Statewide government job fair planned by N.J. Civil Service Commission planned on Mar. 19 in Ewing. It is from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at The College of New Jersey’s Brower Student Center. Employers include state and local government agencies, colleges, and universities across N.J. Attendees can participate in information session on how to apply for state jobs. New Jersey Civil Service Commission

New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission will add 4,500 new Real ID appointments every Thursday starting Mar. 20, more than a month before federal Real ID standards take effect on May 7. Real ID is additional federally accepted documentation that can be used to board domestic flights and enter some federal buildings. Passports and Global Entry cards also meet those standards. Applicants must bring two proofs of residential address, one proof of Social Security Number, and six points of ID. Real ID cards are $35. Appointments accepted online.
