South Orange to host a book signing and reading with autistic author and advocate Tiffany Hammond on Apr. 15. The event begins at 7 p.m. at the Baird Recreation Center in South Orange. Hammond will sign copies of “A Day with No Words” participants must pre-order the book if they’d like their copy signed. Registration required. Add to 📅.

South Orange Middle School to host “7th Grade Glow Party” on Apr. 19. The event, scheduled from 3:30-5 p.m. at the school gymnasium, will include music, dancing, games, prizes, glow sticks, and more. State officials urge residents to prepare for wildfire season. April through late May is typically when the state is at highest risk to wildfires due to warmer and windier weather.
