PSEG Nuclear plans to seek license renewals for its three nuclear power plants in South Jersey
From NJ Spotlight News.
PSEG Nuclear, a subsidiary of Newark’s Public Service Enterprise Group, plans to seek license renewals for its three nuclear power plants in South Jersey. Environmental groups raised concern for potential long-term environmental and financial effects the plants may have on the state. PSEG had previously threatened to close the plants after it determined the plants were no longer profitable. The company was then awarded a $300 million annual subsidy that will continue until June 2025. PSEG plans to formally submit renewal applications in 2027.
