Maplewood community services to host a free screening of the live action “The Little Mermaid” in celebration of Black History Month on Feb. 19. Doors open at 12:30 p.m. the movie starts at 1 p.m. at The Woodland, 60 Woodland Rd. in Maplewood. Hot chocolate and ice cream will be served at the screening. Preregistration is required. Add to 📅.

South Orange Downtown seeks vendors for its 2024 farmers market. The market will run Wednesdays from 2-7 p.m. from Jun. 5 through Oct. 30 in the Sloan Street parking lot. Applications for vendors are accepted online.

Essex County residents can purchase a golf ID for the 2024 season. Passes all access to three county owned golf courses, located in West Orange, Belleville, and Newark. IDs are available for purchase at Essex County’s Hendricks Field Clubhouse in Belleville on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. through June.

Montclair State University recently received a state $199,442 grant to help students restart college and complete their degrees. The goal of the grant and the “Project Restart” initiative is to align with the state’s goal of 65% of working-age N.J. residents holding a high-quality degree or credentials by 2025. The program offers financial support for returning students, and support from academic success coaches to complete degrees within 18 months.
