The Newark Board of Education swore-in Helena Vinhas and Kanileah Anderson as new members to replace the vancant seats from former members Asia Norton and A’Dorian Murray-Thomas on Jan. 25. Vinhas is a local business owner, a volunteer with the Science Park Parent-Teacher Student Organization, and has served on Newark’s Commission on the Status of Women. Anderson is a social worker and community advocate. Both of their sets will be up for election in the April 2024 school board election.
