South Orange dedicated a road to Public Works Director Joseph Foligno on Jun. 18. Foligno died in December at age 40, he worked for the department of public works for 15 years. Joe Foligno Way is located at the entrance road leading to the public works yard at Walton Avenue.

Nearly 40 women detained inside Delaney Hall, a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement concentration camp in Newark, joined an ongoing labor and hunger strike at the facility. The women are demanding ICE to release women under the age of 21, women with medical conditions, and mothers, as well as improved facility conditions. About 300 detainees at Delaney Hall in Newark have been on a hunger and labor strike since May 22 to protest dangerous conditions inside the facility, including medical neglect, lack of air conditioning, and lack of food. Detainees called for an investigation of Delaney Hall, its operations, and for Gov. Mikie Sherrill to visit to discuss protections for immigrants.
