Amrou Ibrahim, a Nutley resident, has been released from Israeli custody and has been receiving medical treatment as of May 22, according to the N.J. chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations. Ibrahim was delivering humanitarian aid to Gaza when Israeli authorities intercepted on international waters. Ibrahim has been receiving treatment for widespread injuries, with reports of use of tasers, sexual harassment, and broken ribs amongst other activists, according to CAIR-NJ.

Cooling stations available statewide as National Weather Service issues heat advisories in N.J. from Jun. 11-12. The state’s heat index, or real feel of temperatures, is expected to exceed 100 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. Nine N.J. counties are under extreme heat watch: Monmouth, Middlesex, Morris, Somerset, Sussex, Warren, Hunterdon, Ocean, and Burlington.
