“Back to the Parks” event for children and families planned on May 20 in East Orange. There will be games and activities from 5-8 p.m. at Soverel Park.

Resin jewelry workshop planned with South Orange recreation on May 29. It is from 6-8 p.m. at the Baird Community Center, 5 Mead St. Tickets are available online until May 20.

Registration is open for South Orange Rescue Squad’s “Sound The Siren” 5K run/walk and EMS open house, scheduled for May 31. It begins at 9:30 a.m. at 62 Sloan St. Sign up online.

Helping Others Move Equitably (HOME) fundraiser supporting The Warehouse NJ is scheduled on Jun. 5 in Short Hills. It will tour five homes in Short Hills from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and discuss its history and features. Raised funds will support The Warehouse’s work around furnishing houses for homeless people. Tickets are available online.

Adult mental health first aid training planned with Partnership for Maternal and Child Health of Northern NJ on May 20 in Secaucus. Attendees will learn how to identify, understand, and respond to signs and symptoms of mental health and substance use in adults ages 18+. It is from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at 150 Meadowlands Parkway. Admission is $100. Registration required.

New Jersey residents ages 13-25 can submit a short video about reparations to NJ Institute for Social Justice’s contest by Jun. 1. Submissions should explore the history and future of reparations.
