NJ Transit to adjust ticket fares during World Cup tournaments this summer

From New Jersey Monitor.

NJ Transit will be adjusting ticket fares during World Cup tournaments this summer, with prices to MetLife Stadium increasing from $12.90 to $150 by train. The price hike is meant to offset operational costs of $48 million, according to NJ Transit CEO Kris Kolluri. Train tickets to MetLife Stadium will be available to purchase on May 13 and must be purchased in advance using the NJ Transit app. Tickets will not be sold at train stations or ticket vending stations. Shuttle bus tickets leaving from Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine in Clifton will cost $80. Tickets by train or bus are non-refundable and non-transferable. Commuters who use NJ Transit must use alternate routes on tournament days, including PATH train from 33rd Street Station or a bus from the Port Authority Bus Terminal.
