Belleville was awarded $300,000 in federal funds from the Community Development Block Grants and Emergency Solutions Grants. Belleville received $30,000 to improve water main relining and valve replacements along Fairway Avenue, Continental Avenue, and Fairway Court.

West Orange youth can attend a LEGO robotics and coding course through the recreation department, scheduled to start Apr. 6. It meets Mondays from 5:30-6:30 p.m. through May 11 at the recreation building. Registration is available online.

BRICK Networks broke ground on South Ward Wellness Center in Newark, slated to open in April 2027. The center will provide health care, maternal services, food access, and youth programming. There will also be a community room for gatherings and workshops, pharmacy, classrooms, and more.

“Food Farmacy” run by Newark Beth Israel Medical Center will open in Newark at 110 William St. It will have fresh produce, refrigerated food items, and shelf-stable foods for Newark residents. There will also be nutrition counseling and community health workers and SNAP navigators to help people access additional resources. Opening date is not yet announced.
