Orange public school students in grades pre-K-12 can register for the district’s spring 2026 basketball programs. Free enrollment for skills and drills and open gym. There is a $25 registration fee to join the basketball league. Registration is available online.

East Orange 2026 opioid awareness 5k planned for Apr. 26. The race begins at 9 a.m. at 132 S. Harrison St., runners and walkers are welcome. There will also be vendors, music, and resources. Registration is free and is available online.

There will be no on-site general parking or tailgating at MetLife Stadium during the FIFA World Cup tournaments in July. Attendees must take transit by bus or train at Secaucus Junction. A new bus terminal at the stadium is expected to be complete in May, and the N.J. Turnpike will build a temporary ramp for buses coming from New York City, according to the Department of Transportation. A limited number of $225 parking passes are available at the American Dream mall for FIFA ticketholders.
