Early bird tickets to Isaiah House’s “House of Love” fundraiser are available until Jan. 31. The event is scheduled for Feb. 28 from 7-11 p.m. at The Suite Spot, 24 1st St. in South Orange. It is $125. The annual event supports Isaiah House’s programming and social services.

East Orange-area youth can complete a Groundhog Day paper plate craft on Feb. 2 at East Orange library. It is from 4:30-5:30 p.m. There will also be trivia and a word search. Registration is not required. Free admission.

East Orange residents with a household income of $80,000 or less can sign up for free tax preparation services. IRS-certified volunteers will assist at East Orange library. Services are by appointment only starting Feb. 3. The last day to file taxes is Apr. 15.

East Orange youth can participate in the library’s candy count contest through Feb. 11. Participants guess the amount of candy in each jar. Winners are notified on Feb. 12 and keep the candy and jar.

In-person early voting for the 11th congressional district special primary election is Jan. 29 to Feb. 3. The district includes parts of Morris, Essex, and Passaic counties. A list of early voting centers is available online. Voters interested in voting by mail must apply for a mail-in ballot by Jan. 29. The special primary election is on Feb. 5.Add to 📅.
New Jersey Division of Elections

New Jersey residents ages 16+ can apply to be an election poll worker within their county. People living in Morris, Essex, and Passaic counties can apply to work during the 11th congressional district special primary election. In-person early voting is from Jan. 29 to Feb. 3. Primary election day is Feb. 5. Interested applicants should contact their county board of elections for applications.
