Newark residents can attend an information session Jan. 29, Feb. 3, and Feb. 5 on PSE&G’s community solar program, which is meant to lower energy costs for renters and homeowners. Program participants subscribe to a local solar farm that generates clean energy for their local electricity grid. Information sessions are from 6-8 p.m. at Park Elementary School, South Street Elementary School, and William Mobile Ashby Center. Registration is required. Free admission.

National Weather Service issued a cold weather advisory for N.J. in effect through Jan. 28. The advisory comes after N.J. saw 14-17 inches of snow on Jan. 25, with towns in Bergen, Morris, and Passaic counties reporting at least 16 inches of snow. There will be wind chills and temperatures below zero for several nights this week, according to the advisory. People should take precautions to stay warm and avoid prolonged exposure to wind chills. “Empowered Teen Wellness Day” planned with Rutgers 4-H Youth Development on Feb. 21 at Rutgers-New Brunswick. It is open to youth in grades 8-12 and recent high school graduates. Attendees will learn about stress management skills, identify their strengths, and connect with their peers. It is from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Lunch provided. Registration is available online and required by Feb. 1. Admission is $10 for 4-H members and $15 for non-members.Add to 📅.
