Hello, and welcome to this special edition of The Daily Buzz! The Jersey Bee will resume publishing regular editions Oct. 27.
We are celebrating five years of delivering local news that helps our neighbors meet basic needs, access resources, and build civic power, and we couldn’t have done it without you!
In honor of our fifth birthday, we put together a series of events to connect, learn, and laugh together.
Join us!

History Walk & Community Social
Oct. 26 from 2–4 p.m. in Orange
Join The Jersey Bee and University of Orange for a guided walking tour from Main Street to Central Avenue, and learn how historic and modern development shapes life in Essex County. Meet neighbors, discover local history, and explore opportunities for justice and repair in housing, healthcare, education, and more.
Tour guides include:
- Dr. Mindy Thompson Fullilove, social psychiatrist and urban policy professor.
- Molly Rose Kaufman, University of Orange Executive Director.
- Douglas Farrand, Co-Director of Music City program.
After the walk, enjoy a casual social hour at The HUUB with light snacks and refreshments.

Open Book, Open Mind: Jacob Silverman on “Gilded Rage”
Oct. 28 at 6 p.m. in Montclair
