SNAP recipients may not receive November benefits in time amid federal government shutdown, N.J. says

From New Jersey Department of Human Services.

Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) recipients may not receive benefits for the month of November on time if the federal government shutdown continues, according to the N.J. department of human services. The federal government shut down on Oct. 1 because lawmakers failed to pass a funding bill. The DHS said Work First New Jersey benefits should be available on time, and it does not anticipate interruptions to the Child Care Assistance Program and child support collection payments. The DHS will update its website as information changes.
