Nutley Mayor Kelly deployed for military service, Thomas Evans to serve as deputy mayor

From Nutley Township.

Nutley Mayor John V. Kelly will be deployed to Iraq with the N.J. Army National Guard starting in August, according to township officials. He will be deployed for six months. Revenue and Finance Commissioner Thomas Evans will serve as deputy mayor, or acting mayor, in Kelly’s absence, according to state law. Evans will preside over township meetings.
