Two lawsuits against Belleville school board claim sexual harassment, retaliation, hostile environment
From Belleville-Nutley Patch.
Five administrators working at Belleville school district filed two separate lawsuits over claims of sexual harassment, retaliation, and a hostile work environment. The lawsuits are filed against the school board, business administrator Matthew Paladino, and former state monitor Thomas Egan. The first lawsuit accuses Paladino of making inappropriate and sexual comments to four women supervisors. It also accuses the school board and Egan of failing to take disciplinary action against Paladino after the women filed a formal complaint with the school board. A second lawsuit claims that Matthew Sullivan, director of safety and security and the vice president of the Association of Belleville School Administrators, was targeted for retaliation and harassed for confirming the women’s allegations.
