N.J. to provide expanded free preschool, full-day kindergarten in all school districts by 2030

From New Jersey Monitor.

Gov. Phil Murphy signed legislation that expands free preschool and requires full-day kindergarten in all districts by 2030. Almost half of N.J.’s school districts currently do not offer public preschool and 10 do not offer full-day kindergarten. The law also requires the state’s Department of Education to provide annual preschool expansion grants, establishes a three-year preschool cost-sharing pilot program, creates a committee to guide expansion, and requires state agencies to post preschool information on their website and report their expansion efforts to legislators.
