University of Orange’s annual Music City Festival for 2025 is scheduled on May 9-10. There will be performances from 3-7 p.m. at Sarrah’s Cafe, 545 Central Ave. on May 9. Performances are from 1-6 p.m. at South Essex Avenue and Main Street on May 10.

Parents and families can meet with Montclair library’s youth services reading specialist to discuss their children’s literacy starting May 1. Slots are available online for 30-minute meetings. Reading specialist Gina Chung Fortt will provide information about choosing a book, navigating other library services, and ways parents can assess their children’s literacy skills at home. When signing up, attendees should indicate their children’s age and the topic they want to discuss. Sessions available throughout May. Book appointments online.
