Federal Highway Administration approve New York congestion pricing plan, $9 toll to take effect Jan. 5

Drivers entering New York City will be charged a $9 toll when entering Manhattan south of 60th Street, effective Jan. 5. The fee is part of the Federal Highway Administration’s congestion pricing plan, which will use funds collected from tolls to support upgrades to New York’s transit system. The toll will incrementally increase in coming years until it reaches $15 in 2031.
