Belleville public schools plans district-wide PowerSchool workshop for families on Nov. 14. The workshop is from 6-8 p.m. at Belleville Middle School’s cafeteria. Attendees will learn how to email staff, review student performance, and navigate PowerSchool. A bilingual specialist and staff will be available to assist.

Belleville Public Schools

Belleville library cardholders can attend a free, online English Second Language conversation-level course Nov. 14. Classes are weekly through Nov. 21 and begin at 6 p.m. It will include practicing listening, speaking, and other conversation skills. Registration is required.

Prenatal breastfeeding class planned by Perinatal Health Equity Initiative on Nov. 13 in East Orange. The class is from 6-7:30 p.m. at 280 S. Harrison St. It is recommended for people who are at 32-26 weeks in their pregnancy. Attendees are encouraged to bring a support person. Fee is $50.

Open house event of The Greenway project planned by N.J. environmental protection and NJ Transit on Nov. 13 in Newark. Project updates are from 6-8 p.m. at Park Elementary School. Spanish interpretation available. The Greenway is a nine-mile former rail line through Essex and Hudson Counties that will be converted into a park with safe paths for commuters and recreational use. The Newark section will span 0.8 miles from Branch Brook Park to Broadway and is expected by 2025.

Technology networking and co-working session planned by NJ Code and Coffee on Nov. 16 in Newark. The free, informal event begins at 2 p.m. at EqualSpace ES550 Tech and Innovation campus, a co-working space. An intro circle begins at 2:30 p.m. and attendees will gather at a local brewery or restaurant after the event ends at 5 p.m.

The event begins at 6:30 p.m. at The Grove, 691 Pompton Ave. All patrons will receive a copy of “Connie: A Memoir” by Connie Chung, who will be in attendance. Proceeds support the organization’s statewide education, advocacy, and community initiatives. Tickets available online.
