Essex County Clerk’s office released unofficial 2024 general election results for West Orange’s council and school board races. Joyce Rudin, Joe Krakoviak, and Michelle Casalino won councilmember-at-large seats with 9,901, 7,679, and 7,668 votes, respectively. Dia Nicole Bryant, Eric Stevenson, and Brian Rock won school board seats with 8,499, 7,497, and 7,565 votes, respectively.
Essex County Clerk’s Office
Rep. LaMonica McIver won the U.S. House of Representative seat in N.J.’s 10th congressional district with 98,432 Essex County votes, according to unofficial 2024 general election results from the Essex County Clerk’s office. McIver is completing the remainder of Rep. Donald Payne, Jr.’s term who died while in office April 2024. McIver will continue to represent NJ-10, including East Orange, Irvington, parts of Montclair, parts of Newark, Orange, and West Orange.

More than 70% of Essex County voters chose candidate Kamala Harris for U.S. president in the 2024 general election, according to unofficial results from the Essex County Clerk’s office. Harris won N.J.’s electoral votes and lost nationally to president-elect Donald Trump, who served as U.S. president from 2016 to 2020. Trump’s second term will begin January 2025.

New Jersey Rep. Andy Kim received 2,029,431 votes statewide to represent N.J. in the U.S. Senate, according to unofficial 2024 general election results from the Associated Press. Gov. Phil Murphy said interim state Senator George Helmy will step down and Kim will be instated after election results are certified. The deadline to certify results is Dec. 5. Kim is the first Asian American to represent an East Coast state in the Senate.
