Nutley residents to receive new garbage cans starting Dec. 2 as township shifts to cost-saving collection system

From Nutley Township.

Nutley residents will receive new garbage cans starting Dec. 2 as the township shifts its garbage collection system to address rising waste management costs. Carts can hold 300 pounds of waste and each have a lid, wheels, and serial number that corresponds with each residential address. Vegetation carts will be also distributed to all single, two-, three-, and four-family homes. The new collection system is slated to begin in January. Nutley encourages residents to attend live demonstrations to learn more about the new system. Dates have not yet been announced.
