New Jersey ports will receive nearly $400 million of federal funds from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Clean Ports Program to reduce air pollution harming communities in Newark, Elizabeth, and Bayonne. The project is expected to cut approximately 67,000 tons of carbon dioxide through zero-emission ferries and trucks, an onshore electricity grid for ships, and new equipment training for workers.
