Maplewood seniors can attend a free lunch and learn discussing the role of grandparents in children’s drug use prevention on Oct. 2. The event begins at 11:30 a.m. at the Maplewood Senior Center. Registration is required.

Voter registration planned by the Montclair League of Women Voters on Oct. 2 in Newark. Voter registration will be open from 9:30-11:30 a.m. at the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services Newark Field Office, 970 Broad St., during the new citizens’ swearing in ceremony.

New Jersey residents can attend a free NJCA webinar discussing the medical debt relief bill on Oct. 2. NJCA’s Healthcare Program Director Laura Waddell will lead the program from 12-1 p.m. It will also include updates on health justice initiatives, including Cover All Kids, Medicaid redetermination, and open enrollment for DACA recipients. New Jersey Citizen Action

New Jersey college students can receive free, virtual mental health services under a state partnership with mental health provider Uwill. All colleges within Essex County are enrolled in the program to provide student access to teletherapy, crisis connection, and wellness programs. Services are available until April 2026.
