Proposals should include plans for community engagement, ways to address potential challenges, and functionality of the space. Guidelines are available online. New Jersey residents ages 18+ can receive free training to become a certified community health worker. Students must apply to attend the Colette Lamothe-Galette Community Health Worker Institute, a state program that comprises of classroom instruction and hands-on job training. Community health workers help residents secure care resources, support, and understand health risks and prevention. Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED to enroll. Preregister online.

Parents of disabled children in N.J. can share their experiences with public school support in a statewide survey. The survey will evaluate parent involvement in their student’s individualized education program (IEP). A supplemental survey will focus on bus safety. Results will inform N.J.’s annual performance report. Surveys are available by email or mail.
