Newark residents can discard old mattresses at designated drop-off locations or schedule a pick-up with the city’s public works department. Mattress disposals are limited to two per household and they must be wrapped in plastic. Drop-off sites are 99 Earl St., 21 Verona Ave., and 244 South 12th St. from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The service is available weekly.
