Nutley school district received loan to cover $7 million budget shortfall

Nutley school district received a zero-interest loan from the N.J. Department of Education to cover a $7 million budget shortfall. Superintendent Kent Bania said that the loan will be repaid over the next decade. The state department of education appointed Jeanette Maskus to monitor the district’s finances in May following announcement of the budget deficit.
