Maplewood library is accepting enrollment for its English for Speakers of Other Languages online classes on Jun. 27. Registration is from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Hilton Branch and from 1-3 p.m. on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at Bloomfield library. Beginner and intermediate classes are from July to September. Students must show two forms of ID and a Gmail account to register. Registration is $25.

A 35% increase in N.J. warehouses in the last 20 years has contributed to worsened air quality for nearly 3 million N.J. residents who live within a half a mile of a warehouse, a new Environmental Defense Fund study shows. It found that Hispanic, Latino, and Black populations in N.J. are more likely to live near a warehouse and be exposed to associated pollutants linked to health problems like asthma and cardiovascular disease.
